Detached Patio Roof Plans

Detached patio roof plans. Great for climates that receive a lot of rain or snowfall the a line roof promotes drainage and makes snow easier to remove if needed. Use rafter hangers to secure the rafters to the ledger boards. Plans must be drawn to scale. That is why it is called a freestanding patio cover.

Most patio cover plans are for a flat roof but these free plans are for an a line roof over the patio.

A freestanding patio is a covered patio that sits on your backyard without being supported by the house or other buildings. These patio cover plans can be adapted in length and width as long as you follow your local beam and rafter span codes.

When you are building a patio cover off of an existing roof or wall you must take all of your measurements from the point at which the patio roof will attach to the existing structure not the outside of the slab.
